Somerton
Established in 1898 and incorporated in
1918, Somerton is located in the fertile Yuma Valley in southwestern
Yuma County. It is about 12 miles south of Yuma and 180 miles east of
San Diego. Surrounded by its lush green lettuce fields, Somerton
continues to grow with a population of over 10,000 people.
Neighboring with the Sovereign Nation of the Cocopahs, Somerton has been
able to flourish with jobs, education and much more.
San Luis
Located in the Southwestern end of the State of Arizona lies the City of
San Luis
next to the Mexico Border. The City of San Luis was established in
1930 along with the opening of the U.S. Custom next to the Mexico
Border. In the last twenty years it has registered an accelerated
population increase going from 1,946 inhabitants in 1980, to
approximately 20,000 in the year 2000. The growth is due to a
constant migration from Mexico and California, productive activities in
the border area and opportunities San Luis has to offer.
Yuma
Located in the Southwest corner of the State of Arizona.
Yuma
also borders the State of California. This community is known for its
farming and Marine Corp Air Station. The great winter
weather brings many visitors during the winter months and
the year round population of approximately 82,000 generally doubles.
